Recurring championships 6

A handful of events come back year after year and draw players from many countries. The Dubai Open, first played in 1999, is the oldest name; its 2025 edition ran in two categories at the Dubai Chess & Culture Club. The same hall in Al Mamzar hosts the Zayed championship, with its 22nd edition in February 2026, and the UAE National Day rapid, whose 54th edition was played in December 2025.

In Sharjah, the Sharjah International championship reached its 31st edition in February 2026 during Ramadan, and the SCA tournaments return several times a year with classical, rapid and blitz sections. Ajman University holds a spring championship with the federation. Each entry shows the newest dated edition found.
